What’s the point of posting content on social media if no one looks at or cares for your content? Maybe they see your content as too preachy or coming off too strong and therefore turns them away.

We get it. You want to be a witness for Jesus Christ on social media but how do you do that in a way that will get people looking (or reading), keep them engaged, make an impact on them, and cause them to ultimately take action?

We have a post-writing formula that we believe can help you, but first make sure you are doing this…

Whenever you make a post or at the start of each day, simply pray and ask God to make your social media content effective and impactful. Don’t underestimate the power of prayer.

Remember…

Most often, people want to know ‘what is in it for them.’ They may not outright ask you what is in it for them, but they are certainly thinking it. In your Christian social media communications, if you can help show others ‘what is in it for them’ when it comes to accepting a Biblical truth you are sharing, it could help you to be more effective in your efforts.
Here is a simple formula to help you frame your communications as a Christian on social media to include the ‘what is in it for them’ mentality…

Social Media Missionary® Post FORMULA (for Christians):

  1. Here’s what the Scripture says
  2. Here’s what it will do for you
  3. Here’s what I want you to do next…

Let’s break it down…

Try making your Christian social media posts by using the 3 steps above. Think of each step as a segment of your social media post. Here is an example for each step:

Step 1. Here’s what the Scripture says

Example: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life.

Step 2. Here’s what it will do for you

Example: Want to live forever, have Eternal Life? If you believe in God’s only Son, Jesus, as payment on the cross for your sins, you will have Eternal Life!
